38th International Chemistry Olympaid 2006

On July 2006, we, the upper six of Malacca High School sat for the Kuiz Kimia Kebangsaan Malaysia. A number of us scored High Distinction. Thomas and I were among the lucky ones being selected t represent the state of Malacca to participate in the Chemistry Camp organised by Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia.

A total of 20 participants from all over Malaysia were put to intensive training in UM. After attending 3 workshops which were held from February to June 2006, four of us, i.e. CK, Murnirah, Benjamin who were from the state of Selangor and me from Melaka were selected to represent Malaysia in participating the 38th. International Chemistry Olympaid (Icho) 2006.

It was held in Yeungnam University, Gyeongsan, Korea. We stayed in Korea from 2nd. to 11th. July 2006. More than 260 partcipants from 66 countries took part in this competition. There, we sat for our theory and practical examination. After putting in much effort and hard work, CK, Murnirah and I were awarded the bronze medals while Benjamin was presented an honourable award. We are indeed proud that we have not disappointed the organizer specifically and Malaysians in general.
