DAULAT TUANKU - TUANKU ABDUL HALIM MU'ADZAM SHAH
The installation of the 14th King and Queen of Malaysia is the first installation taking place today at the new National Palace Istana Negara at Duta Road.
Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, who is the Sultan of Kedah, has been appointed as the 14th King of Malaysia by the Council of Malay Rulers after the 13th King, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin five years reign.
Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah was crowned as the royal prince to ascend the throne at the Anak Bukit, Alor Setar, Kedah as Tuanku Abdul Halim. His Highness is the second prince of Tunku Badlishah and Tunku Safiah binti Tungku Mahmud. His Highness assumed the Regent of Kedah in 1949.
He was graduated from the Wadham College, Oxford, in Social Science and Public Administration.
He ascend the throne of Kedah in July 1958 and observed the throne installation in February 1959. As the 5th King and Queen from 1970 to 1975, His Highness is twice a King and Her Highness is twice a Queen.
